The New Project (19 Sequels)
This past November for National Novel Writing Month I wrote a 60,000 word novel. It’s set in the same science fiction universe as “No Woman No Plaything” and “The World in His Throat” and it’s a prequel that explains how that universe came to be. It was good to write a novel in that setting which included women (at least for the first few chapters) and to understand how a foundered generation ship helped create the universe of the rest of the series.
I’ve added four short story sequels to the novel since November out of a planned 19. I’m still working on the Ray Bradbury-inspired ‘write and send out a short story a week’ 74 Stories Project. (Most of what I’ve written in the past few years contains one of the four protagonists in this short story series, even if the appearance is just a cameo as it is in the November novel.)
I’ve also been catching up on sending out work: I only have 27 more pieces to send out. (My tracking list now covers three single-spaced pages.) I have a backlog of fountain pen ink reviews to upload and I want to get back to blogging by typewriter.
